The Government of India has
ventured a massive action plan for tackling the pollution
problems of rivers through the National River Conservation
Plan (NRCP) which includes amongst others prevention and
reduction of pollution of river Sutlaj in Punjab state. The
costs for financing the schemes under River Sutlaj Action Plan
in Punjab state are borne fully by the Ministry of Environment
& Forests (MOEF), Govt. of India (GOI). Punjab Water Supply
and Sewerage Board (PWSSB), Chandigarh, is the Implementing
agency and National River Conservation Directorate (NRCD),
Ministry of Environment and Forests (MOEF), Government of
India (GOI) is the nodal Agency. IRAMCONSULT,
New Delhi are the consultants to PWSSB, Chandigarh.
Under an assignment from
IRAMCONSULT prepared the
Engineering drawings in AUTOCAD of 6 Main Pumping Stations
(MPS) proposed to be constructed at Ludhiana, Jalandhar and
Phagwara towns, in Punjab State under River Sutlaj Action Plan
Project. The Capacity and location of Pumping stations are 152
MLD, 111 MLD & 36 MLD at Ludhiana town, 100 MLD at Jalandhar,
16 MLD & 3.5 MLD at Phagwara. The pumping stations are a part
of the Interception and Diversion scheme of the project. The
scope of work for IRAMCONSULT included preparation of the layout
plans, L-sections, Hydraulic profiles, Civil & Structural
Engineering drawings, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
drawings, and working drawings.
