Technology
IRAMCONSULT has been associated
with the National River Conservation Plan of the Ministry of
Environment & Forests, Government of India since its inception
in 1986. We have been instrumental in the development of an
Integrated and holistic approach for pollution prevention,
abatement and conservation of rivers and lakes. We have
prepared the guidelines for the Ministry of Environment for
Project formulation and implementation. Till date we have been
providing Consultancy Services for a number of river/lake
conservation projects in different parts of India, as given
below. A notable feature of our approach has been the
application of GIS software and mapping tools for planning of
pollution abatement and conservation schemes. Amongst others
the Indo-Dutch Project at Kanpur & Mirzapur under the Ganga
Action Plan and the Dal Lake Conservation Project in Srinagar
under the National Lakes Conservation Plan are note-worthy

IRAMCONSULT has provided
consultancy services for a number of areas related to the
environmental aspects of Tannery Waste Management and
introduction of cleaner production technologies. The
Indo-Dutch Kanpur Project has been an important reference in
this field. The main objective of the Indo- Dutch project was
to study in an integrated manner the environmental aspects of
tannery waste management of a cluster of 171 tanneries in
Jajmau, Kanpur and provide solutions for the improvement of
the environmental conditions within the tannery area with the
improvement of the living conditions of the people in Jajmau.
The scope of activities included Design of UASB CETP for
Tannery wastewater treatment, Collection and Conveyance system
for Tannery wastewater, Tannery Solid Waste Management, In
house improvements, Chrome Recovery and reuse plants in
tanneries and Occupational Health aspects of Tannery workers.
In addition to this we undertook Design, Construction and
Project Management for the Chrome Recovery and Reuse Plants of
capacities ranging from 7-10 M3 at Zaz, Asia, Pacific leather
finishers, Homera, Pioneer and Super tannery at Jajmau, Kanpur.
The other Chrome Recovery plants
designed and constructed are:
-
PAUL-BRO Leathers, Jalandhar
-
BAWA Skin Company Ltd.,
Jalandhar
-
Super House Leathers Ltd.,
Kanpur
-
Kings International Ltd. ,
Kanpur
-
Asian Diets Ltd., Gurgaon
The plants in these Tanneries
have been set-up under the direct sponsorship of Leather
Technology Mission of Central Leather Research Institute,
Chennai.
IRAMCONSULT has undertaken a
number of assignments in the field of Environmental Resource
Management and Impact Assessment. The cornerstone of our
approach in this field has been the use of computer based
Environmental Systems and GIS software and Mapping tools for
Environmental Planning and Management. We have prepared
digitized base maps of human settlements, watersheds and
eco-systems for planning and analysis and preparation of
ecological profiles. A Geographic Information System (GIS) is
a computer-based tool for mapping and analyzing things that
exist and events that happen on Earth. GIS technology
integrates common database operations such as query and
statistical analysis with the unique visualization and
geographic analysis benefits offered by maps. These abilities
distinguish GIS from other information systems and make it
valuable to a wide range of public and private enterprises for
explaining events, predicting outcomes and planning
strategies. IRAMCONSULT has successfully implemented GIS
Software packages in the efficient implementation of
environmental management projects. We use MapInfo, ArchInfo,
AutoCAD-Map, Microstation and GeoMedia GIS software for our
project works.
GIS is broadly used in the
following areas:
-
Environmental Planning &
Infrastructure Master Plans.
-
Landscaping. Human Settlements
Planning & Development.
-
Quantity Survey & cost
estimates.
-
Infrastructure Planning /
Development / Execution.
-
Natural Resource Management.
-
Digital Terrain Modeling.

IRAMCONSULT is providing
consultancy services for Detailed Engineering Design, Bill of
Quantities, Tender Documents and other related services for
water supply, sewage systems, sanitation, storm water drainage
and solid waste management. We have pioneered the design and
construction of sewage pumping stations using submersible type
pumps in India. The projects include the 10 sewage pumping
stations in Haryana under Yamuna River Conservation Plan and 6
Main Pumping Stations under River Sutlej Conservation Plan in
Punjab.
IRAMCONSULT is providing
consultancy services for Solid Waste Management and Waste to
energy specially high rate bio-methanation process. We have
taken the lead in anaerobic digestion of liquid and solid
wastes and have significantly contributed to the National
