Description of
the Project:
The National River Conservation
Directorate (NRCD), Ministry of Environment & Forests
formulated Sutlej River Action Plan (SRAP) Project for
prevention of pollution in river Sutlej stretching through
Punjab. There are 3 towns in Punjab where pollution abatement
schemes are being implemented. In all these towns a major
component of the pollution abatement scheme is sewage
treatment and hence Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) shall be
constructed.
Based on the requirements and
sewage generated, there are 6 Main Pumping Stations which
shall be designed & constructed in Punjab. The NRCD is the
nodal agency for this project.
