HUSSAIN SAGAR LAKE CONSERVATION PROJECT IN HYDERABAD, ANDHRA PRADESH STATE, INDIA

Period: May –July, 1997

Hussain Sagar Lake Conservation Project, Hyderabad, India is covered under the National Lake Conservation Plan (NLCP) of the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF), Government of India (GOI), New Delhi. The project is fully funded by the MoEF, GOI. Andhra Pradesh Control Board (APCB) is the official implementing agency. The Project Feasibility Report (PFR) for this project was prepared by IRAMCONSULT, New Delhi. The PFR focused on assessment of Pollution in Hussain Sagar lake, Planning of pollution abatement and conservation schemes, Financial aspects and Infrastructure development for sustainability of the project.

IRAMCONSULT provided services for the scanning of existing survey of India paper maps, digitization and data creation in Mapinfo and digitization of various networks and integration of data on to the maps. The conservation plans for the restoration, conservation and sustainability of the lake and the project were integrated on to the maps.
