Qualification
Bachelors Degree in Geography, Earth Sciences,
Engineering, Computer Science or closely related field. MCAs/BCAs
with experience in GIS industry is encouraged to apply.
Profiles
Candidate will serve as a GIS web application developer
to customize, maintain, and enhance a variety of Internet
and intranet applications. He/She will significantly
contribute to documentation and analysis of requirements and
the architectural design of new web-based interactive
mapping/reporting applications. The candidate will use
interactive mapping servers, OGC compliant Internet
protocols, markup languages, and scripts to implement the
Internet geoservices applications.
Skill set
In-depth knowledge of ArcIMS/MapXtreme and fluency with
ArcXML, ASP, Java-scripts, VB-scripts, XML and HTML to
customize and deploy web-based interactive mapping/reporting
applications.
Experience with IIS/ Tomcat server configuration
Knowledge of J2EE Technologies, including Servlets and
JSPs
Knowledge of serving ArcSDE spatial data through
web-based applications
Knowledge of SQL 2000, Oracle 9iAS and 10G databases
Knowledge of MS SQL database
Experience with Weblogic preferred
Working knowledge of developing ArcInfo, ArcSDE, ArcIMS,
and programming ArcObjects with Visual Basic, Oracle and SQL
Databases
Experience in GIS development and programming with
ArcINFO and other ESRI products or Map Info products Knowledge of software development lifecycle
Ability to perform in a multi-tasking, team-oriented
environment with excellent verbal and written communication
skills Exposure with International clients would be an advantage
